Currently, a 68-year-old crucca has committed or ordered more than 150 murders. Among other things, he detonated a charge that killed prosecutor Giovanni Falcone, on 23 May 1992, known as the mafioso hunter, as well as his wife and his bodyguards.

He also strangled and dissolved the acid of an 11-year-old son of another mafioso, who was informed by the police. Crimes occurred at a time when he was the right hand of Cosa Nostry’s chief Salvatore’s “tot” Riina, who died in prison in 2017.
Brusc was arrested in May 1996, then began to work with justice. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, but after 25 years he was conditionally released, which caused an outrage in Italy. The next four years – until the end of May 2025 – was under protective supervision and had to regularly report to the police.

The mafioso apologized for his crimes. At the same time, he said he agreed with the interview because he wanted to “ask for forgiveness of all relatives of the victims he had caused so much pain and grief”.
Brusca said his family paid for his decision to become a penitent. According to him, it was the right decision, both in moral, legal and human side. “It allowed me to close the whole thing. I call Cosa Nostra to death. Nothing more, nothing less,” Brusca said.
