The serious threat from the promotion of his fundamentalist agenda in Europe is highlighted by a report, entitled “Muslim Brotherhood and Political Islam in France”, published by the French Interior Ministry in May.
“Bomb exhibition” as he notes demonstrates the existence of Islamic organizations that have ties with the Muslim Brotherhood and seek to influence the institutions of the European Union through “important lobbying activities”.
It spoke of a “shocking report on the methods of the Muslim Brotherhood on the enforcement of Sharia law on France”, sparking strong reactions to the country’s political world.
The team that prepared the exhibition visited four European countries and their ten ministries. He interviewed more than 200 people. State officials, religious figures, academics, essayists, officials and diplomats.
Following the research, interviews and gathering of the necessary data, the final report confirms the “serious threat” that exists in France and is characterized by a “double language” which combines “concealment with the apparent respect of the rules, with the aim of replacing the national community”.
Something similar, it is worth noting, the French President Emmanuel Macron had already affected in 2020 in his speech, pointing out the “theoretical, political and religious plan implemented through repetitive deviations from the values of democracy and often leading to the creation of a child and the school. Teaching principles that are not in line with the laws of democracy.
Like the catechism and, through it, the denial of our principles, such as equality between women and men and human dignity. The problem is, therefore, this ideology, which claims that its own laws are superior to those of democracy. ”
The way the Muslim Brotherhood penetrate
In the chapter entitled “The Condition of Threat”, the report details how the Muslim Brotherhood movement in France penetrates and spreads into local ecosystems through stable structures in religious, educational and social areas. At the same time, it makes proposals and methods of combating penetration into local and national decision -making, as well as international organizations, in particular in the EU.
After the Arab Spring, the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood shifted the focus of its activities between Turkey and Europe. He founded his European headquarters, the Council of European Muslims, in Brussels. It has also established a long presence in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom.
Specifically in France, the French government’s report continues, the Muslim Brotherhood has created a powerful network for the last 40 years, based on two main elements: a Bobrela organization, the Muslims of France (successor to the Union of Islamic Organizations in France, UOIF) and a group
The Muslim Brotherhood of France manages 139 connected places of worship, with a significant influence on 55 counties of the country, representing about 7% of the 2,800 worship sites recorded in France. About 60 more mosques are close to this movement, without being officially connected.
The three areas of action
At the same time, the Muslim Brotherhood has invested in three main areas of action, which are traditionally preferred by Islamists: education, social action and theological training. The Muslim Brotherhood participates in religious schools, five of which are affiliated with the state.
These institutions are supported by a National Federation of Private Muslim Education (FNEMs), which brings about 60 non -contracted schools, mainly at a primary level, promoting values contrary to those of democracy (such as inferiority of women, superiority of divine law, etc.).
The influence on the field (with charities and extremely motor preachers) is reinforced by the virtual world. Many “preachers 2.0” are active on the internet, through “Islamic Reminder” accounts, which have up to 1.5 million followers in Tiktok.
Indeed, the debate on Islam remains largely tool for the extremist Islamist minority, which is trying to spread, in particular, on the internet, the most stringent religious views, to make the victim of a hegemonic victim and equate Islam with Islam.
“One of the most existential challenges facing France”
Following the publication of the report, the National Defense and Security Council of France, which met in late May, presented initial guidelines that will lead to the implementation of a national action plan.
Prior to the official publication of the findings, the president of the far -right National Coalition, Zordan Bardella, told France Inter that the Muslim Brotherhood is “one of the most existential challenges facing our country”.
Former Prime Minister Gabriel Atal has denounced “organized groups that seek to consolidate Islamist penetration” and support “the principles of Sharia law, especially in schools”. Following the publication of the report, he proposed a ban on Muslim headscarf to girls under 15. Something that caused reactions from the left: Jean-Luc Melanson, president of the France, has accused the government of improving Islamophobia and “base” on far-right arguments.
