During the breakfast held on the morning of Friday, June 6, at the Adilis Nogueira Maciel Educational Center, in Cruzeiro do Sul, the President of the Acre Legislative Assembly (Aleac), Deputy Nicolau Júnior (PP), officially ended the second stage of the BR-364 caravan.

In a firm speech, the parliamentarian thanked the participation of all those involved in the mobilization, reinforced the need for union between the powers and again charged a concrete response from the federal government for the critical situation of the state’s main highway.
“I want to express my deep gratitude to all who were part of this second caravan in defense of our BR-364, who calls for help. I thank the PRF, the Military Police, the DNIT superintendent, Ricardo Araújo, our Sérgio Petecão, Deputy Zezinho Barbary and all my parliamentarians who joined this very important cause. He has always been with the population in this fight, ”said the president of Aleac.
Nicholas also made a point of highlighting the work of the press, which accompanied the entire journey since leaving in Rio Branco. “I congratulate, with great respect, the friends of the press, who ensured that this mobilization be accompanied by all the Acre. Only the union of us can put an end to this drama that our people live. Today we are all BR-364, we are all Acre,” he said.
The parliamentarian stressed that the BR-364 represents more than a simple road. It is a symbol of the hope and development of an entire region. “This caravan is the Acre Caravan. It was conceived by the Legislative Assembly, but it was supported by the Federal Chamber, the Senate and the State Government. BR-364 is the most important work we have. Acre does not reach one million inhabitants, but it needs the same attention that the larger states receive. our state. ”

During the act, Nicholas Junior also recognized the institutional advances achieved. According to him, thanks to the technical performance of DNIT, the BR-364 left level 3 priority and passed to level 2, which requires future presidents of the Republic to maintain regular investments on the highway. “This is a concrete achievement. From now on, no matter who is in charge of the nation, BR-364 will require permanent attention. It is a victory of the Acre people.”

Closing the ceremony, the statement of Acre was signed about the situation of BR-364, a document built during the caravan and which will be sent to the federal government. The letter, signed by state, federal deputies, senators, councilors and mayors of Juruá, warns of the unsustainable condition of the highway, marked by holes, erosions, sinking and committed bridges.
According to the text, the precariousness of the road compromises the right to come and go, the dignity of the human person and access to fundamental rights such as health, education and economic and social development.

The document also acknowledges that, although federal investments have been expanded in recent years, actions are still insufficient in the face of the geotechnical complexity of the region and the accumulated deterioration of the road. DNIT’s own technical reports point out that palliative hoop operations no longer solve the problem, and the full reconstruction of BR-364 with the application of hydraulic macadam as the only viable solution is required.
In addition to charging from the federal government the priority allocation of funds in the Union Budget, the declaration requires the DNIT to present a detailed plan of actions with a defined schedule and transparency measures. It also asks the National Congress to hold public hearings, the inspection of transfers and the strengthening of continuous financing mechanisms for the infrastructure of the Amazon region.
Finally, the text calls on Brazilian society to understand that the struggle for BR-364 is not only a regional demand, but a national cause involving federative justice, dignity and respect for Amazonian populations.
With the act held in Cruzeiro do Sul, the Legislative Assembly of Acre, along with the other political and social leaders, ends the caravan, noting that the people of Acre will no longer accept abandonment. The signing of the letter symbolizes the beginning of a new phase of permanent collection by state, municipal and federal authorities. A phase in which Acre requires, with legitimacy and unity, respect and infrastructure to the height of its importance to Brazil.
