In Lidl there was food control for pesticides. It did not come out for specific potatoes in which the Fostiazatt standard was exceeded. Therefore, on June 4, GIS announced the withdrawal of this product from sales.
Food tests are needed – thanks to them, consumers are aware of what lands on their plates. In addition, comparative tests are aimed at encouraging producers and retail chains to raise standards. They allow discount stores to assess how their products fall out from the competition, which in turn promotes the constant improvement of the quality of the offered vegetables and fruits.
They were subjected to such tests, which were withdrawn from Lidl. GIS informs about the failure of those purchased between 26 and 30 May. This decision was made for the sake of consumer health and compliance with applicable food safety standards. What variety is exactly about?

This does not apply to other potatoes that are sold loose. Customers are asked to not get a product from this party and to return it to the store.
On May 30, in the afternoon, Lidl issued a message about the withdrawal of early potatoes. Such a message can be seen on the official website of the store in the “Important information for customers” tab.
Specific voivodships were given, where we will not buy early potatoes in these discount stores. Here is the list:
- province Mazowieckie;
- province Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship;
- province Podlasie;
- province Lublin;
- province Lesser Poland;
- province Silesia;
- province Podkarpackie.
Inhabitants of these voivodships can return goods in any Lidl store, without the need to show receipts. Currently, GIS conducts explanatory proceedings at the production site and at the product supplier.
