The Club World Cup will start this Saturday (14/06), with the game between Inter Miami x Al Ahly. Despite the opportunity to closely see a player like Lionel Messi, the initial match of the new tournament organized by FIFA does not seem to have fallen into the fun of the fans.
The inaugural game will take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, and according to information from The Athletic, there are still thousands of tickets available to the site, which houses 65,326 fans. Other reports report that less than 20,000 tickets had been sold – information denied by FIFA, which stated that the number would be much higher without specifying.
Whatever the number of tickets sold, it seems to be much smaller than expected by FIFA, which has created measures to have a more crowded stadium in the first match of the Club World Cup.

What FIFA has done with the ticket crisis for the Club World Cup
Also according to information from The Athletic, FIFA has been collaborations with the Miami Dade College, which has over 100,000 students enrolled. Among the advantages offered, such as the opportunity to do an internship at FIFA’s office in Miami, the entity has offered $ 20 tickets for students, and up to four free tickets for the game.
That is, a total of five tickets for a student would leave for only $ 4 each (about $ 22) to watch Messi live.
For the general public, last Tuesday, tickets to Inter Miami x al-Ahly were leaving for $ 55 ($ 304) at Ticketmaster, the portal used by FIFA to market the tickets. In May, the cheapest price was twice the value. In January, the cheapest ticket cost $ 230 ($ 1274), and in December, when the tournament groups were set, the most affordable ticket was valued at $ 349 ($ 1934).
FIFA has decided to adopt a dynamic price model for the tournament, where the price floats according to the demand.
Although the entity does not reveal how many tickets were actually sold to the starting game of the Club World Cup, the measure of offering promotional tickets to students, according to sources heard by The Athletic, is a measure to offer the student of Miami Dade, an institution that has a good relationship with FIFA, an opportunity to see first -class football in the “door of the house”.
