Dário Essugo was officially presented yesterday as a new Chelsea player, in time to join the squad at the Club World Cup. After a brief interview, the Portuguese midfielder participated in a quick question segment promoted by the London club.
At just 20 years old, Essego exchanged Sporting for Chelsea after a period of loan to Las Palmas. Already on English soil, it was ambitious: “I want to win as many titles as possible,” he said.
During the informal questionnaire, he was asked who his childhood idol was. The answer was straightforward: William Carvalho, former Sporting player and currently at Betis, who shares the same position on the field.
However, Chelsea committed a curious gaffe. In editing the video, the club confused William with Ricardo Carvalho and eventually included images of the former central of the Portuguese team and former blues player, in an unusual moment that did not go unnoticed to the fans.
