Former Education Minister Abraham Weintraub criticized former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on Wednesday after statements made by Bolsonaro during his interrogation at the Supreme Court (STF).
statement that caused a strong reaction between part of its base.
“I was very sucker!” Wrote Weintraub on a social network, highlighting an excerpt from the audience in which Bolsonaro dissociates himself from his supporters’ coup speeches.

Former faithful ally of the former president and a prominent figure in the ideological wing of pockets, Weintraub also mocked the fact that Bolsonaro apologized to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, whom he has attached publicly several times during his term.
“I never apologized to them! I never denied what I said of them!” The former minister published, reinforcing the tone of breakup with Bolsonaro.

Rupture
Bolsonaro’s statements deepen his cracks with part of his supporters, who for months advocated the thesis of ballot box and requested military intervention. During the protests after the 2022 elections, tracks with requests from a new AI-5 were displayed in acts performed across the country.
For figures such as Weintraub, the former president’s most conciliating stance on the Supreme Court represents a betrayal of the speech adopted during his mandate and promises made to his ideological basis.
Weintraub was Minister of Education between 2019 and 2020, leaving the government after conflicts with members of the Federal Supreme Court and the Allied base itself.
