The 2025 edition of the MuscleContest Brazil, one of the country’s main bodybuilding championships, will take place from July 18 to 20 in Curitiba (PR) and will have something new this year: Derek Lunsford and Terrence Ruffin, two of the best athletes today, will be trained by Fabrício Pacholok in the middle of fans during the event.
“We are creating a ‘alive’ stage where these athletes will train. Everyone will be able to watch,” says CEO and owner of MuscleContest Tamer El Guindy in an exclusive interview with the blog.
For Pacholok, who asked the show to organize equipment focused on leg and back exercises, one of the greatest lessons spectators will be able to take from the experience – which will take place on Saturday afternoon (19) – is the “concentration” of the current champion of Ohio Sports Festival (O Arnold Classic Ohio) during training and the “way with which he enters” in each of his series: ” Seeing this through the videos, but personally it’s different. ” Another point addressed by the Physical Education professional is that people can see the respectful way with which athletes of the highest level treat their coaches.
In an interview with the newspaper, Ramon Dino coach Matheus Menegate, Gabriel Zancanelli and several other recognized bodybuilders worldwide also talked about negotiations to bring both stars to MuscleContest Brazil. “Derek would already come to Brazil to spend a few days training with me and Tamer aligned everything to come when the championship would happen. Ruffin would also come, but it would be before. I explained about the championship and he got excited. Along with these negotiations, Tamer made the play of organizing my training with both,” he explains.
“They told me that they know how the Brazilian is in love, but I answered: ‘No, you have no idea.’ In fairs outside Brazil, they get walking, take one or another photo. Here, this is impossible, they would not walk quietly at the event. They have no idea what, in fact, the Brazilian audience is, Pacholok.
El Guindy, in turn, points out that “there is no bodybuilder in the world that does not want to know Brazil”. On the other hand, the producer of Olympia acknowledges that the biggest difficulty in bringing international stars to national competitions is monetary: “Operating and logistics costs of bringing an international athlete is very large, especially because of the value of currency.”
In addition to amateur competitions and bodybuilding professionals, the businessman recalls that, in all, the event will also feature fighting and crossfit modalities, as well as courses and lectures.
Finally, the producer claims that “MuscleContest Brazil will become the largest show in the country. The idea is that he gives the symbolic title of ‘Mister Brazil’, the Brazilian champion.” He also reveals that several stars of world bodybuilding expressed the desire to be called: “As soon as Derek Lunsford announced that he would come here, I received a call from Jay Cutler (four -time Olympia champion) saying that he wanted to come too. We want everyone to come.”
