A flight from Phuket’s Air India in Thailand to New Delhi, the capital of India, received a bomb threat on board on Friday (13) and made an emergency landing on the island, airport officials said.
All 156 Flight Passengers AI 379 were escorted out of the plane, following emergency plans, reported an authority from Thailand airports.
The aircraft took off from Phuket’s airport to the Indian capital at 9:30 am on Friday, but made a wide loop around the sea of Andamão and landed back on the island south of Thailand, according to Flightradar Flights tracker24.
The incident occurs after on Thursday (12), right after takeoff, in which.
AOT has not provided details about the bomb threat. Air India did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Indian airlines and airports were flooded with fake bomb threats last year, with almost 1,000 calls and false messages received in the first 10 months, almost 10 times the number of 2023.
