An increase in social expenditure is only a partial solution and this step is not sufficient for carers. After Wednesday’s government meeting, the opposition party SaS responded, which considers an approved increase in monetary custody contributions and personal assistance only for a patch and not a systemic solution.

“Today, the government has received only a partial solution without a vision. Although the contributions are slightly increasing, it continues to ignore the fact that we have an acute lack of carers and the system has long been undersized. The reform of financing social services was to apply since January this year, but today we only know that it is moving again, ”said the opposition MP of SaS Martina Bajo Holečková.

She explained that the party has submitted a bill to the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic for the negotiations to the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic, which would provide assistance to informal carers after the death of a person. According to her, the proposal to extend the period of payment of the care allowance after the death of the care of a person from the current person from the current one to four months was also supported by the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, but the government ignored it.

Bajo Holečková She assessed that the increase in care for care approved by the government on Wednesday does not solve the overall position of informal carers taking care of family members.
