At the age of 79, former deputy and vice -chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Ján Ľupták died, informs. He entered politics after the Velvet Revolution. In 1990 he was elected a member of the Slovak National Council for the Democratic Left Party (SDL).
Four years later, he became a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for the Association of Workers of Slovakia (ZRS), which was established in 1992 as a civic association and transformed into a political party in 1994. After the elections in 1994, the ZRS got into parliament and Ľupták was elected vice -chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
