The governor of, (Republicans), visited on Thursday (7) the former president () at his house, in Brasilia, where he meets house arrest. “He’s fine, he’s serene,” Tarcisio said after the meeting.
Tarcisio arrived around 2:30 pm. The visit lasted about two hours. The governor of São Paulo do (Supreme Federal Court) for the trip.
The governor of São Paulo said there were political-institutional and humanitarian reasons, when asking for authorization the day before. “The petitioner is a co-religionist and friend of the recluse. In the face of such a circumstance-that, moreover, it is of broad public knowledge-the petitioner considers that there are political-institutional and humanitarian reasons that justify the permission of personal visit to Mr. Jair Messias Bolsonaro,” he said.
In house arrest since Monday (4), Bolsonaro has stated “interest in receiving visits from all indicated people.”
On Thursday, Moraes also authorized that the deputy governor of the Federal District, Celina Leão (PP), Federal Deputy Luciano Zucco (PL-RS) and three others talk to the former president at home.
All visitors need to comply with the measures determined by the Supreme Minister. They are forbidden to use their cell phone at Bolsonaro’s house and cannot take pictures or record videos with the former president.
During the week, the former president was visited by Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI), former Minister of the Civil House, and the eldest son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
Tarcísio participated in the morning, in Brasilia, of Class of the (Military Academy of Negras) to Generalato.
After the meeting with Bolsonaro, the governor of Sao Paulo went to a meeting at the house of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), with seven other governors who oppose Lula (PT).
Tarcisio and the other two governors who spoke on behalf of the group – Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), and Mato Grosso, Mauro Mendes (União Brasil), – charged the federal government to announce the package of measures that should mitigate the effects of 50% tax imposed by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to products imported from Brazil.
