Cidadania is studying the possibility of launching a candidate for the Government of São Paulo, after being upset with the withdrawal of the president of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

The decision frustrated other candidates on the same ticket, especially those who were excited by the possibility of Serra attracting votes for the group, in addition to candidates who have no sympathy for the Tarcísio government.
In Cidadania, there are those who say that Serra was an individualist when he stopped running. There are also allegations that the toucan has already negotiated appointments at Fundação Casa with Tarcísio. Serra denies it.
The toucan claims that it was Cidadania who signed Tarcísio. “I also didn’t understand what decision they [cúpula do Cidadania] Do you intend to retaliate by being a federal candidate? Because that’s all I announced, as any other decision goes through the national federation”, says Serra.
The leadership of Cidadania, which claims to be responsible for the leadership of the federation in São Paulo, is considering launching names such as former councilor Soninha Francine and federal deputy Alex Manente. With that, Paulinho would not have such a free path to support Tarcísio.
In the state poll, released in March, Serra obtained 5% of voting intentions.
