A large fire consumed a victory factory on Friday, causing a large column of smoke that led the authorities to order the confinement of two neighborhoods in the city, which is located in northern Spain.
“Due to the fire that is taking place at the factory [da empresa] Lea, the municipal emergency plan was activated, ”wrote the Basque City City Hall in X, without injuries.
The authorities “determined the confinement of the residences of [bairros de] Abetxuko and Arriaga, in addition to the evacuation of factories in the block where the affected area is located, ”the city said in a statement.

In the same text, municipal authorities explained that “fire continues to consume hydrogen bottles near the core of the incident. The explosions of these bottles have forced a retreat from emergency teams.”
The thick column of smoke was visible at a distance, a Journalist of AFP confirmed. According to the Local Diario de Álava vehicle, which cited sources from the authorities, the fire started in one of the factory machines.
