The National Highway Company opened the Congress from the D1 motorway to the D4 motorway in the direction from Trnava to Jarovce. Motorists can already use the motorway connection to the bypass of Bratislava. TASR informed the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Transport (MD) of the Slovak Republic.
“The bypasses are an important step to improving the quality of life of all inhabitants of towns and municipalities. Thanks to them we can reduce the dust, noise or air pollution in the residential areas. In addition to the connection in Bratislava, we are currently implementing the Motorway bypasses of Prešov, Košice, Ružomberok, Tvrdošín, Žilina, or bypasses Šala and Sabinov on the first class roads, ”said the Minister of Transport. According to the ministry, it is possible to quantify the benefits of the new connection of the D1 motorway to the zero bypass of Bratislava. In the opposite direction, the connection has been opened before and has banned transit traffic after the old bypass of Bratislava. According to the resort, 650 trucks will pass every day.
As the ministry pointed out, the newly opened highway branch is approximately a kilometer long and it is a full double lane. In front of the D1/D4 intersection, motorists will disconnect from the highway and the branch will lead them under the D1 motorway and connect to D4.
“Working for two live motorways requires extraordinary measures and procedures. We look forward to having this important milestone thanks to intensive commitment. More than 2,100 workers have been working on the construction so far, They used more than 2200 tons of steel, 53,000 tons of asphalt and more than 55,000 cubic meters of concrete. We also built 450,000 cubic meters of embankments and more than 10,000 square meters of support walls, ” approached the director of the D1/D4 construction in the section Bratislava-Triblavina Wojciech Wlodzimirski from the Polish company that realized the construction.
Four branches are currently open at the D1/D4 intersection. “Modernization D1 in front of Bratislava and the D1/D4 intersection represent the most important investment in road infrastructure in western Slovakia. After completion of work, a full -fledged highway will be created in the section, which the West Slovak region necessarily needs,” closed the Ministry.
