O US Department of Defense says that the GBU-57 have been designed to destroy especially bunkers and tunnels.
The GBU-57 Mop pumps, used by the United States to attack Iran, are transported by six-meter-length missiles, guided by GPS, and were designed to destroy targets to high depth. In this case they can reach targets 60 meters deep.
It is a precision weapon with more than 13 tons of weight, about six meters long and close to 80 centimeters in diameter. These pumps can only be transported by B-2 aircraft.
According to information from the US Department of Defense itself, the GBU-57 were designed to destroy especially and tunnels.
They are retarded fuse bombs that separate from the missile and detonate for the second time already inside the target. Its thick steel enclosure allows ammunition to remain intact by drilling the soil, rock or concrete before detonating, allowing an attack with higher level of precision and effectiveness.
Although it is the heaviest conventional weapon in the United States, it was not designed to spread explosives by a vast area.
