China accused, on Wednesday, the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of trying, in an “absurd” way, recruiting its citizens through two videos published on social networks.

The Chinese State Ministry of Security has stated that videos are like job ads on networks and constitute a “amateur maneuver” to convince people to spy to the Americans.

“These two carefully elaborated job ads, full of rough rhetoric and slanderous statements, expose the absurd logic and delirious paranoia of US intelligence agencies,” the ministry said on his Wechat page.

The CIA director, John Ratcliffe, said the videos published in May, which call for release of state secrets, aimed to “recruit Chinese employees to help the United States.”

Beijing condemned, at the time, publications as a “blatant political provocation.”

The United States and China have been on mutually espionage for years.
