The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) warned that Thursday evening threatens storms accompanied by strong winds and hail. He informed about it on the social network. Experts recommend the wind to prepare in advance.
“We also expect a storm system accompanied by strong winds Today in the evening with the strongest wind again in the western half of the territory. We therefore recommend watching the situation and prefers to prepare for a possible strong wind in advance, ”they said.
They recalled that the damage was also done by the storm on Monday (23 June), when strong winds reached a speed of 70 to 110 kilometers per hour. Most often he refuted the trees, resulting in damage to the power lines and outage of electricity. “Some road sections were impassable, in rare cases the trees fell on cars. In several villages, the wind also pulled the roofs on the houses,” The meteorologists approached.
The hail with a diameter of up to three centimeters caused damage to vegetation at the beginning of the week. “The groats driven by the wind caused the greatest damage in the villages of Dobrá Voda and Prašník,” SHMI said.
