Petrobras reverses loss and profits from R $ 26.7 billion

Better efficiency of exploration fields increased the volume of oil and gas produced, according to state -owned

Petrobras’ net income was R $ 26.7 billion in the 2nd quarter of 2025. The state -owned company managed to reverse the loss of R $ 2.6 billion in the same period as 2024, according to the report released on Thursday (7.ago.2025) by the state -owned company ( – 2Mb).

“Operational performance has been driven by the implementation of new production systems and improving field efficiency in operation. These factors allowed to increase the volume of oil and gas, positively reflecting on financial results and mitigating the impacts of the price of Brent price.”said in a statement the chief financial and relationship with investors at Petrobras, Fernando Melgarejo.

In the 1st semester of 2025, the state’s net income was R $ 61.8 billion. Compared to the same period of 2024, when the profit was R $ 21 billion, the increase was 193.2%.

Financial highlights

  • Adjusted EBITDA –Lucro before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization – of R $ 52.2 billion, 5% more than in the 2nd quarter of 2024;
  • Operational cash flow of R $ 42.4 billion, 10% more than in the 2nd quarter of 2024;
  • Free cash flow of R $ 19.2 billion, 39% more than in the 2nd quarter of 2024.

Gross debt

The state’s gross debt was US $ 68.1 billion at the end of June 2025, representing a 5.5% growth compared to the end of the 1st quarter of 2025. The reason is the captures made during the 2nd semester and the start of the operation of the floating unit of production, storage and transfers Alexandre de Gusmão (mere 4), which resulted in recognition of US $ 1.1 billion – Petrobras – Petrobras – Company indebtedness.

PRODUCTION

On July 29, the state -owned company said that Its oil and natural gas production reached 2.91 million Boe/D (barrels of oil equivalent per day) in the 2nd quarter of 2025. The increase was due to the gradual entry into operation of the Almirante Tamandaré platforms, Maria Quiteria, Anita Garibaldi and Anna Nery.
