Operating system update brings changes to apps such as Maps, Wallet and Music; beta version will be released in July
Apple presented iOS 27 during WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) 2026 with a series of features aimed at making everyday tasks easier. In addition to , the system brings changes to applications such as Maps, Wallet, Apple Pay, Apple Music and Podcasts.
The new functions are now available to developers and a public beta version will be released in July 2026.
Apple Maps gains recommendations and more detailed visuals
Apple Maps has received an improved version of the Flyover feature, which offers 3D aerial views of cities and tourist attractions with more detail and more fluid navigation. The application also now has the Local Listsa tool that allows you to discover and save recommendations for restaurants, attractions and trending places.
Search app allows you to control shared location time
The Buscar application now allows users to share their location for personalized periods, which can vary from minutes to several days. You can also temporarily pause sharing with specific contacts.

Wallet uses AI to automatically split bills
One of the main new features of Apple Wallet is the intelligent division of expenses. With the iPhone’s camera, the user will be able to scan receipts and split expenses among friends using Apple Cash. The tool identifies items individually, calculates taxes and tips and allows you to send charges via Messages or Wallet itself.
The application also starts to digitize loyalty and association cards, in addition to expanding the functions of digital hotel keys.

Apple Pay gets new payment system
Apple Pay will have a revamped checkout experience across apps and websites. Users will be able to switch between cards more easily and view information such as balance, rewards and installment options. Apple will also let you add money to eligible debit cards directly through Wallet.
For traders, the company launches the Tap to Sharea feature that allows you to share loyalty, address and contact information with a simple tap.

Apple Music expands lyric translation
Apple Music expands lyrics translation and pronunciation capabilities into new languages. AutoMix, which creates automatic transitions between songs, also gets improvements and will be available on more devices, on Apple TV 4k, Apple TV and HomePod.

Podcasts now have internal search and videos
Apple Podcasts will allow you to search for content within a specific program. Additionally, video podcasts are coming to Mac and Apple TV.

Shared albums gain more features
iCloud Shared Albums now offers full-resolution photo sharing, new file types, emoji reactions, and improved activity feeds. Apple also creates temporary albums for events and projects and will allow people without Apple devices to contribute photos online.

Fitness+ launches program aimed at menopause
Fitness+ will receive the program Strong Through Menopausewith 3 weeks of yoga and strengthening exercises, designed to help people going through perimenopause or menopause, as well as a new episode of the “Time to Walk” series with actress Busy Philipps.
