John Textor kissed coach Renato Paiva minutes after Botafogo’s victory over Paris Saint-Germain, the first triumph of a Brazilian club about a European in 13 years.
He did not kiss him to identify him with the soldiers, as in the Bible. But it took just ten days to thank and dismiss the coach who set up the strategy to win the European champion.
When a US president fires a Portuguese coach, one cannot call it “culture of Brazilian football”.

Earlier this year, Textor said he had no hurry to choose Artur Jorge’s replacement, who packed his bags for Qatar’s Al Raayan. There were two arguments. The first: better and not risk making a risk. To the second, shallower, textor called “Botafogo Way.” The Botafogo mode.
After the defeat to Palmeiras, Textor was seen coming down to the outraged Botafogo locker rooms. And we still amazed, because it could not compete with the elite of Europe.
