Between fields and trees, in a retained area of the Algarve coastal agitation, there is a space that began to be just a mini-golf field. Today is a place with dozens of animal species, several leisure areas and a mission centered on the welfare of its inhabitants.
It was over two decades that the current Zoo, named Krazy World, opened the doors in a rural environment between orange and herds. Since then, the project has grown, consolidating itself as a licensed park and focusing on animal rehabilitation.
A zoo with origin in a mini-golfe
According to the Krazy World website, this space located in Algaz, in the Algarve, began to be the first American mini-golf field in the region. Families visited the place to play and contact with Thursday animals.
According to the same source, the evolution to the Zoological Park arose with the objective of offering adequate conditions to rescued exotic species, transforming the place into a licensing structure for animal reception.
Welcoming rescued animals is the mission
Currently, about 70% of the animals living in the park were brought by rescue entities, such as the Exotic Animal Rescue Center, the Netherlands; the ICNF, the Institute of Nature and Forest Conservation; and Rias, the Algarve Wildlife Recovery and Research Center.

Reptiles, mammals and birds to meet live
Among the species housed in the Krazy World are reptere, s like the American aligator (Alligator Mississippiensis), Anaconda-Yellow (Eunectes noteaeus), corn snakes and blue -tongue scores.
It is also known that mammals range from the poneis and donkeys to the bennett kangura (Macropus rufogriseus), passing over-goats, raccoons and coatis.
It refers to the same source that the park also houses birds, namely macaws, caturras, emus, buffo and the carachará-austral (Phalcoboenus australis), which can be observed in the different habitats scattered throughout the room.
Educational experiences with animals
In addition to species exposure, Krazy World offers several daily interactions. Explains the site that visitors can feed turtles, contact birds or participate in management sessions with poone and donkeys, including brushing and basic care. These activities are guided by caregivers and seek to promote environmental education among children and adults.
Leisure, pools and rest areas
The park is not limited to the zoo universe. Next to the animal area, visitors find slippery pools, fabric areas, pedal kart circuits and a 18-hole mini-golf field. There is also a restaurant with a terrace, where homemade pizzas and other light meals are served, overlooking the pool and green zone area.
Situated a few kilometers from Vilamoura and Albufeira, the park offers an alternative to the traditional bathing offer. The space bets on a combination of contact with nature, pedagogical activities and family leisure.
According to the Krazy World website, tickets include access to various activities, such as Mini-Golfe, Nature Play Park and swimming pools. Other experiences, such as pedal karts, have additional cost. Also donkey tours are subject to extra payment.
Ticket prices
As for ticket prices, be aware that visitors aged 11 to 64 pay 15.25 euros to enter this space in the Algarve if the reserve is made through. On the other hand, children aged 4 to 10 pay 8.95 euros. Visitors 65 and older are applied the same rate as children.
