The PSOL filed a representation on Thursday (10) with the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) requesting the opening of criminal investigation and the decree of the pre-trial detention of licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP).
The party alleges alleged involvement of the congressman in foreign articulations that resulted in the decision of the president of the United States ,.
According to PSOL, he would have personally worked in an international campaign to “sabotage Brazil”, encouraging US parliamentarians to adopt sanctions against Brazilian authorities and incite Trump to economically retaliate the country.
In the document delivered to the PGR, the party states that Eduardo violated national sovereignty by maintaining “negotiations with foreign agents to promote hostile acts to Brazil”, and points to evidence of crimes provided for in the new Democratic Rule Defense Law, such as attack on national sovereignty, violent abolition of the rule of law and coup.
Deputy Talíria Petrone (PSOL-RJ), leader of the party in the House, defends a possible cancellation of Eduardo’s mandate. For her, Congress must react to the situation.
“We cannot leave a Brazilian deputy to conspire against Brazil internationally. So let’s battle for cassation. It will be challenging yes, but we believe that the gravity of what is underway needs to sensitize the National Congress as a whole. And press the president of the Ethics Council.”
