Fire reaches grain silo in Rio Grande do Sul

Structure runs risk of collapse; Fire started on Friday (11.Jul) and firefighters still work at the site

A large fire has reached, since Friday (11.Jul.2025), a grain storage silo of a company, on the banks of BR-116, near the city of Arroio Grande, in southern Rio Grande do Sul. The Fire Department teams continue to work on Saturday (12.Jul) to control the flames. There is no record of injuries. The information is from g1.

According to firefighters, the attained silo has a risk of collapse and the area is considered of high danger. It is not yet known what caused the fire.

The agents managed to advance in fire fighting after installing hoses in a neighboring silo, which facilitated the cooling of the main structure.

According to the corporation, the only way to fully extinguish the fire would be with the complete removal of the stored soybean load, but the process can take several days.
