UN Institute causes criticism with AI refugee avatars

A project of the United Nations University Center for Policy Research (UNU-CPR) is currently causing discussions: Researchers of the institution belonging to the UN have developed two AI Avatars to tell the stories of refugees. The goal: sensitize people to humanitarian crises. But the approach is criticized, also because real people feel incapacitated by the simulations.
