It has a velvety consistency, a delicate taste and an impressive protein content. Kvarg is a Scandinavian delicacy, which is more and more boldly gaining recognition from dietitians and lovers of a healthy lifestyle. However, in Poland it still remains underestimated. Time to change it!

Kvarg is a dairy product with a creamy consistency, reminiscent of thick yogurt or very delicate cottage cheese. It comes from Northern Europe, where it enjoys great popularity – especially in Sweden, Norway or Germany. Unlike traditional cottage cheese, Kvarg is more velvet, and its taste is milder and less sour. It arises as a result of milk fermentation using the right bacterial cultures, just like yogurt. However, it differs from it a higher protein content and a lower fat content, especially in “light” or “without sugar,” versions.

One of the biggest advantages of Kvarg is his High content of full -fledged protein. Up to 10-12 g per 100 g of product. This makes him a great choice for physically active people, athletes and all who want to keep muscle mass or lose weight. Kvarg is also:

  • Breakfast bowl with fruit: kvarg + blueberries + raspberries + nuts + a bit of honey,
  • toast with kvarg and fried egg – protein and filling version,
  • A seasoned version with radish, dill and chives.

Kvarg can be found in some supermarkets i health food stores. It is worth reaching for natural versions, without the addition of sugar and artificial aromas – they are the most valuable in terms of nutritional.
