Woman lost her visa and spent years living outside society. Questioned about what happened, gave an unexpected answer
A woman of Russian nationality and her two daughters were found to live in a cave in the depths of the southern forests of India, years after their travel documents had expired, local authorities.
The woman, identified as 40 -year -old Nina Kutina, and her six -year -old daughters, were found while inspectors patrolled Ramatirtha’s hill – a tourist place prone to landslides on the southern coast of Karnataka – on July 9, according to a statement issued by the local police superintendent, M Narayana.
The three lived in the cave for years, police said, who added that his mother’s visa expired eight years ago.
Kutina defended her decision to live outside society with her daughters in an interview with the Indian news agency Ani, describing a swimming life in waterfalls, painting and ceramics.
“We have a great experience in staying in nature, in the jungle. We were not dying. I didn’t bring my daughters to die in the jungle,” Kutina told Ani in English while sitting next to her daughters in a car.
“They didn’t feel bad. They were very happy.”
Kutina said that her visas had “ended … recently” and that her family had lived in four countries before going to India in 2017.
Police said the records show that the woman arrived in Goa with a work visa she expired in April 2017 and left the country to Nepal in September 2018, before returning to India.
Kutina was “reluctant to provide adequate details about her passport and her visa and her children,” said Narayana.
The woman did not reveal whether her children were born in India or Russia, but told authorities that she had a son who died in Goa, Narayana told CNN.
“She doesn’t want to leave because she loves nature, but we have to follow the procedures,” said Narayana. The fact has been able to have been in India since 2017, without the knowledge of local authorities, it is a security concern, the superintendent added.
“Caves in caves is a dangerous thing, and with two children, and living there for a week or more is amazing,” admitted Narayana.
Authorities are taking action to repact Kutina and their children, who have no passport, to Russia. They were transferred to a near -specific detention center for illegal foreigners in India.
