Information was confirmed by the Portuguese Foreign Ministry

A citizen of Portuguese nationality is among the victims of the US. The fire caused nine dead.

“The government laments the death of a Portuguese citizen in a fire in Boston. Sends the condolences to the family and continues to follow the situation through the diplomatic network,” reads the publication of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry in X.

Nine people died on Sunday night at a Fall River, Massachusetts, having 30 other people injured.

“The teams came across intense fire out of the main entrance and several people hanging from the windows, waiting to be rescued,” Fall River firefighters said Jeffrey Bacon to journalists abroad of Gabriel House facilities.

Gabriel House has been operating since 1999, according to the State Department of Health and Social Services. The three -story building has 100 residential units and about 70 residents lived there at the time of the fire, the Fire Department said.
