United States President Donald Trump reinforced on Friday the threat of taxing Brics countries by 10%, stating that the emerging block wants to overthrow the dominance of the dollar.
In a speech at the White House, the Republican also mocked, between July 6 and 7, stating that “almost no one appeared.”
“We have this small group called BRICS, which is disappearing quickly. But the BRICS wanted to try to dominate the dollar, the dollar dominance, the dollar pattern. And I said: Anyone who is in the BRICS nations consortium, let’s target you at 10%. They had a meeting the next day, and almost no one appeared. They didn’t want to be targeted, it’s amazing,” Trump said.

“Any country that aligns with BRICS anti -American policies will pay an additional 10%tariff. There will be no exceptions to this policy. Thanks for your attention!” Trump said in a social truth publication.
Just this Friday, Trump said the group would end very quickly if they formed significantly.
“When I heard about this BRICS group, basically six countries, I was very, very upset. And if they really form significantly, it will end up very fast,” said Trump, without specifying what measures he would take.
