US federal prosecutors accused a 55-year-old man from New York on Tuesday, who, according to court documents, produced seven home bombs with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). Five of them reportedly stored on the roof of an apartment building in the SOHO district, reports TASR according to the website of NBC News.
NBC News states that The accused Michael Gann repeatedly published contributions on social networks, suggesting the intention of his home -made bombs. According to the US authorities, he acted himself.
“Gann allegedly produced several improvised explosive devices for use in Manhattan … Thanks to the successful cooperation of the law enforcement authorities in New York, Gann was quickly brought to justice before he could hurt innocent civilians,“Said the head of the Federal Investigation Office (FBI) in New York Christopher Raia.
Gann said he “wanted to make pyrotechnics and learned by AI, which chemicals are to buy and mix,” he says in the lawsuit.
