Ukraine and Russia launched air strikes along the Black Sea coast of each other at dawn on Thursday, hours after brief direct conversations between them failed to make any progress in the measures to end almost three and a half years of war.
The Russian forces have carried out the latest in a series of mass attacks with drones in the Ukessa Porto Porto in the Black Sea, injuring at least four people and causing various fires, as well as damage to the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The famous pryvoz market in Odessa was among the affected places, said regional governor Oleh Kiper. “It’s not just a place of commerce, it’s Odessa’s living heart,” he added.

The administrative chief of the Sirius district, south of Sochi, said a drone has reached a oil base without further details. Russia’s aviation authority said the operations were suspended at Sochi airport for about four hours.
Russia also attacked the central Cherkasy at night, hurting seven people, including a nine -year -old, and damaging more than a dozen residential apartment buildings.
Negotiators discussed other prisoners’ exchanges at a brief peacekeeping session in the Turkish city of Istanbul, but remained far from the terms of ceasefire and a possible meeting of their leaders.

“Yesterday, at a meeting in Istanbul, the Russian side again received a proposal for immediate ceasefire and completely. In response, Russian drones are attacking residential buildings,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Telegram.
He said Russia had launched 103 drones and four missiles during the night attack, which, according to vice-minister Oleskiy Kuleba, reached civil infrastructure, including sea ports, transportation centers and residential areas.
In recent weeks, Russian forces have intensified drone attacks in cities far from the 1,000 km front line in east and southern Ukraine.
