PSD President Luís Montenegro said on Saturday believe that the Constitutional Court (TC) will validate the amendments to the Foreign Law, rejecting the government to act according to the “A or B Agenda”.
“I am convinced that the Constitutional Court, despite all this media pressure that seems to want to induce the court itself to decide in a certain sense, will give a constitutional judgment to what was approved at the Assembly of the Republic,” said Luís Montenegro in an event that marks the 51st anniversary of JSD in Esmoriz (Ovar district of Aveiro).
The Prime Minister also referred to the sending, by the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Something Louis Montenegro considered “a perfectly normal procedure”.

According to the leader of the PSD, this is the agenda “that interests the Portuguese economy and is the one that also matters to the values of humanism and dignity”, also saying that “interest to immigrants”, to whom he went.
“Regulated immigration is thinking, first, in immigrants themselves. That’s why I walk on the street and I am often approached with special enthusiasm, respect, adhesion and support by many immigrants,” said Luís Montenegro.
The prime minister said that you need younger Portuguese in Portugal but also “more people” in the labor market and in the economy.
“But have no doubt: more regulation, more rules, consequences for those who do not fulfill the rules is what demands immigrants, those who are here in good faith, with good spirit and their legalized situation or in a position to be legalized,” he said.
Marcelo sends Foreign Law to the Constitutional Court
The President of the Republic submitted, on Thursday, to the Constitutional Court the Decree of Parliament that amends the legal regime of entry, permanence, departure and removal of foreigners from the national territory, approved by PSD, arrives and CDS-PP.
In a note published in the official site of the Presidency of the Republic on the Internet, it is read that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa “submitted the Decree of the Assembly of the Republic amending the Foreign Law the preventive inspection of urgent constitutionality by the Constitutional Court.”
The head of state requested the preventive inspection of the constitutionality of the rules on the right to family regrouping and conditions for their exercise, the deadline for assessment of requests by the agency for integration migrations and asylum (AIMA) and the right to appeal.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also requested urgency to the TC, setting in 15 days the deadline for Urgent pronunciation of the TC on the decree approved in Parliament with votes in favor of PSD, CDS-PP and arrives, the abstention of IL and votes against PS, free, PCP, BE, PAN and JPP.
