The Islamist group Hamas denounced that the “humanitarian pauses” that Israel began this Sunday in Gaza are a “cover” for international public opinion to maintain its offensive on the enclave.
“The reality on the ground shows that this supposed ‘truce’ is nothing more than a cover to deceive international public opinion and maintain the massacres against helpless civilians,” the Islamist statement said, attributed to the member of his political bureau Ali Baraka.
Baraka referred in this regard to the different shootings denounced by the Gazatí population around the distribution points of the Humanitarian Foundation for Gaza (GHF) or other areas that allegedly be part of those pauses with humanitarian motifs.
As Efe witnessed, one of them occurred at the hands of the Israeli army next to the border pass of Zikim, at the northern end of Gaza, when thousands of people waited for access to about 35 trucks from the World Food Program (WFP, in English).
