Yanmar announced on Thursday (31) an investment of $ 280 million in its new factory in the city of Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo. The manufacturer’s project will be implemented by 2030, in three stages and expansion in tractors market share.
Today, Yanmar faces a space, inventory and part logistics challenge in its complex. The new unit will occupy about 140,000 square kilometers, triple the current plant it maintains in Indaiatuba.
“This new factory will be critical to overcoming these obstacles and meeting market demand,” says Yanmar South America’s Innovation and Marketing manager, Wagner Santaniello. “Our goal is to continue increasing our market share. Today we have 10% market share in the tractor segment and we seek to consolidate this rate by 12% in the coming years.”

With the new factory, the company projects that the production of tractors jump from 5,000 to 7,000 units per year in a single shift. The investment decision was motivated by the assessment that there is growth in demand for agricultural tractors, mini -scrubs, harvesters, engines and spare parts, which requires more space and improvement in structure.
“We want to go on advancing in other markets, keeping the lead in mini -screens and continuing to grow in the other segments in which we operate,” says Santaniello.
Construction begins next month in a three -step planning. In the first, with a deadline for 2027, the production and transfer of the factory of tractors, engines, generators and inventory began; In the second moment, production increases to 7,000 tractors per year and the spare parts distribution center is expanded; By 2030, inventory transfer, training center and administrative area will be completed.

Part of the investment is intended for the acquisition of industrial equipment and construction of docks with lift systems for the displacement of items. The company will also implement an assembly line -driven with automatic torque and inspection controls, as well as improvements in logistics, safety and ergonomics.
