Moraes and Barroso are expected to comment on the case during the opening of the 2nd semester of the judiciary
The opening of the 2nd semester of the judiciary, scheduled for Friday (1st.ago.2025), at 10am, at the Supreme Court (STF), must have demonstrations of ministers about the inclusion of Alexandre de Moraes on the list of sanctions of the United States.
According to the Poder360it is expected that Moraes and the president of the Court, Luis Roberto Barroso, will comment on the case during the session. Speech will be open to all ministers. The tendency is that the sanction to Moraes will be approached by more than one member of the Court.
On Wednesday (30.Jul), Moraes was included in the list of sanctions of the magnitsky law, US legislation that allows punishments to people accused of involvement in serious human rights violations or corruption.

It also says that the minister targets opposition politicians, including former president (PL), defendant in the STF for attempted coup after the 2022 elections. Moraes is a rapporteur of the action.
On the same day, in a note, the STF that “It will not be deviated from its role of fulfilling the constitution and the laws of the country”. Without directly citing the former president (PL), the Court stated that the trial of crimes against democracy is the responsibility of Brazilian justice.
