The first legislative work after the white recess were interrupted on Tuesday (5) by a protest led by deputies and opposition senators to the federal government.
The demonstration was called after Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), (PL).
In the House of Representatives, oppositionists took the plenary with posters and bands in the mouth, in protest against what they consider to be judicial censorship. The parliamentarians physically blocked the beginning of the sessions.

“We will not vacate the tables until the presidents of both homes seek a solution to pacify the country,” said PL leader, Deputy Sostenes Cavalcante (RJ).
In the Senate, the tension also spread. Senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE), according to the house’s vice president, was prevented from opening the session by opposition colleagues, who maintained the obstruction even after attempts to resume by the ruling base.
“Peace Package”
Opposition movement is part of an articulated obstruction strategy, which includes the presentation of a so -called “peace package”. The set of measures proposes:
• Acceleration of the voting of the project that grants broad, general and unrestricted amnesty to those involved in the acts of 8 January;
• End of the privileged forum to authorities;
• Opening of impeachment process against Alexandre de Moraes, Minister of the STF.

Parliamentarians require the presidents of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and Senate, David Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP Union), include the themes on the voting agenda. Until then, they promise to maintain obstruction in both houses.
Tumult in Plenary
Opposition movement led to a direct clash with governing parliamentarians. In the early afternoon, Deputy Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) went to the House plenary and harshly criticized the manifestation of the Bolsonarists. “This is an attack on Parliament, it is an attack on democracy. You are desperate to do this. This is the continuity of January 8,” he said.
The atmosphere was heated, with a chat between left and right parliamentarians, revealing the increase in tension between the powers and the difficulty of resuming legislative normality.

According to Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), a possible trip by Hugo Motta abroad would pave the way for the vice-mayor, Altineu Côrtes (PL-RJ), to interim the command of the house and guided the amnesty project.
“If Hugo Motta leaves the country, Altineu Côrtes will guide the amnesty – wide, general and unrestricted,” published Nikolas to his X (former Twitter) account.
