Despite the classification for the quarterfinals of the Brazil Cup, Coach Rogério Ceni did not hide dissatisfaction with the performance of the Bahia on the night of Wednesday (6), in the goalless draw with the Retro-PE, in the Arena of Pernambuco.
the tricolor secured the vacancy, but owed the field, especially in the offensive sector. In an interview after the match, Ceni went straight to evaluating the team’s performance.
“Happy for the classification, dedication of all, but concerned about the performance, especially in the offensive part. We have not conceded a goal in the last games, but we have to yield a little more in the offensive part,” said the coach.
“We have to value everyone’s struggle. We have examples of other teams fighting and suffering too, but we have to evolve in the offensive part. We had control, possession, intersections, but harmless kicks,” criticized the coach.
“We have managed to control the game, but it is a very physical game. Stronger physically causes damage, especially when lowered the lines, defends well. We need to evolve, improve, but it is retro merit to have been able to stay in the game,” he added.
Classified to the quarterfinals by 10th time in history, The team led by Rogério Ceni awaits the draw to know who will be his next opponent in the Brazilian Cup.
Before that, Bahia returns to the field this Saturday (9), at 21h (Brasília), against the Fluminense, at the Fonte Nova Arena, in Salvador, for the 19th round of Brasileirão.
