A man who launched fire on Friday in Georgia’s US State near Emory University campaigns and the Center for Control and Prevention of Diseases (CDC) in Atlanta is dead. On Friday at 5 pm local time (23.00 CEST), the university issued a warning against active shooters, which moved along the university. Around 6 pm, according to AP, a warning siren sounded in the area, while the safety of security forces continued to come to the place.

According to the available information, the attacker was armed with a long firearm. The police seized three more firearms at the crime scene. The shooter found dead on the second floor of the building opposite the CDC. “At present, we do not know whether his death was caused by the cops or caused it himself,” stated Schierbaum. Police members are currently searching a white van near the crime scene, but Schierbaum added that it is still unclear whether it belonged to the suspect.
