We know the fragrance from every public swimming pool, it immediately brings us to bathroom and maybe even triggers nice childhood memories – we are talking about chlorine. We usually combine positive associations with the smell of the agent used in bathrooms to disinfect the water. However, it becomes less romantic when you know that the typical chlorine smell only arises when the chlorine reacts with certain substances, namely primarily with sweat or urine.
