President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Tuesday in an interview with BandNews that he sent a letter to US President Donald Trump inviting him to the UN conference on COP30 Climate Change to be held in Belém in November.
Last week, in an interview with ReutersLula had said he will not call Trump to negotiate the 50% rate imposed on Brazilian products because he considered that Trump does not want to talk, but would call to invite him to the climate summit.
Lula remembered on Tuesday that Brazil tries to establish itself as a world leadership in climate and environment policies and has the ambitious goal of zeroing deforestation by 2030.

The president also said in the interview that he should call France President Emmanuel Macron to Germany Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen to talk about the commercial agreement between Mercosur and the European Union.
