Initiative has as audiences targets, managers, social leaders and educators
The (Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship) established, on Friday, the National Program for Education in Human Rights and Citizenship. The measure has as its target audience servants, public managers, social leaders, educators, students and others interested in the promotion and defense of human rights. Objectives include the offer of accessible learning courses and learning resources, the training of professionals in the field and the promotion of network articulated actions. Here’s (PDF – 207 kb).
The Ordinance, signed by Minister Macaé Evaristo on August 11, establishes an educational process structured in 5 fundamental dimensions: acquisition of specific knowledge, affirmation of values and social practices, strengthening citizen awareness, development of participatory methodologies and encouragement to actions to promote, protect and repair rights.
EDH (Human Rights Education) is defined in the document as an essential mechanism for forming citizens aware of their rights and duties in society. The program will be implemented throughout the national territory, respecting Brazilian regional and cultural diversity.
The Special Advisory of Education and Culture in Human Rights, Environment and Companies will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the program. The courses will be offered at the Virtual School of Government, while the educational materials produced will be available at the Ministry’s Digital Library.
