Secretary General of the Lebanese movement Hezbollah Sheikh, Nai Kási, accused the Lebanese government on Friday that he is publishing the whole country in the country of Israel by his duration to disarming Hezbollah. According to Reuters, Kasim pointed out that Hezbollah will fight to maintain his arms arsenal, TASR reports.

At the beginning of August, the Lebanese government approved a plan to introduce a state monopoly for possession of weapons by the end of this year, trying to force Hezbollah to force other paramilitary units to complete disarmament. At the same time, the government decided to fulfill the ceasefire closed with Israel in November 2024.

Hezbollah rejects disarmament

Kasim has already announced that the movement rejects any arms composition schedule if the Israeli army attacks continue in Lebanon.

The Lebanese government faces pressure to disarm Hezbollah, especially by the United States. Hezbollah, although considerably weakened after the war with Israel, which eliminated almost all of his leadership, still has a large arsenal of weapons.

Despite the November 2024 ceasefire agreement, Israel continues to attack persons and infrastructure associated with Hezbollah. At the same time, he threatened that he would continue the attacks until the movement transfers weapons.

In a speech that was broadcast on Friday by Hizbollah al-Manár, Kasim pointed out that the decision of the Lebanese government to disarm its movement by the end of 2025 could lead to a civil war in Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s support is increasing

Kasim, referring to the alleged opinions of the Lebanese, claimed that the Lebanese army is not strong enough to effectively defend the country, and diplomacy is not enough in this case. He argued that most Lebanese people still support Hezbollah as a resistance movement. He accused the government of ending the aggression of Israel and preventing the presence of the Israeli army in Lebanon, serving Israeli interests. However, Kasim admitted that the Lebanese government may be in unintentionally doing this.

He added that Hezbollah and his ally – the Shiite political movement Amal – have now decided to postpone street protests against the disarmament plan, as they still see space for dialogue with the Lebanese government. However, he pointed out that future protests could reach the US Embassy in Lebanon. As is well known, the US has supported an agreement proposed by the Lebanese government.
