As you know, warmth is disordered energy. Because disorder likes to spread out how most of us can regularly observe at their desks, heat usually arises when energy is added to a system. Usually, because a research team from Innsbruck now reports in the specialist journal Science of a quantum system that, contrary to expectations, does not heat up, although energy is permanently supplied.
