Tremembé unit will no longer receive famous prisoners

Penitentiary in the interior of São Paulo will relocate known detainees, such as Robinho and Thiago Brennand, 45 km away

Tremembé Penitentiary 2, in the interior of São Paulo, will no longer receive famous detainees. This Friday (15.2025), was notified of the change, which will affect prisoners such as former player Robinho and businessman Thiago Brennand.

According to information from the newspaper The State of S. Paulofamous detainees will be transferred to the Potim Penitentiary, about 45 km from Tremembé. The decision came from the State Penitentiary Administration, although the specific reasons were not publicly disclosed.

The José Augusto César Salgado Prison Unit, official name of Tremembé Penitentiary 2, has a history of housing nationally known detainees. Among those who have already passed the institution are Alexandre Nardoni, Roger Abdelmassih and Cristian Cravinhos.

Inaugurated in 1955 in the Paraíba Valley, the penitentiary holds up to 348 people in closed and semi -open regimes. Its structure includes 2 closed regime pavilions and a specific accommodation for semi -open detainees, with collective cells for up to eight people and nine individual cells.

Inmates have access to spaces such as kitchen, church, classroom, library, soccer field and vegetable garden. The unit also has factories from the Prof. Dr. Manoel Pedro Pimentel, who enable labor activities and vocational courses as part of the Penalty Remove Program for the work.
