German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will accompany Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders on a visit to Washington on Monday for discussions with US President Donald Trump about Ukraine, the German government said on Sunday.
“Negotiations will address, among other matters, territorial issues and their defense against Russian aggression. This includes maintaining pressure from sanctions,” the government said.
An employee of the White House told the CNN that several European leaders were invited to the meeting. , also confirmed presence at the event.
