Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta spoke for the first time about the departure of midfielder Jorginho to Flamengo. The coach said that the athlete’s desire weighed to leave the English team.
“We had several conversations to understand how far we wanted to walk together or not.” He was very clear the desire to end his career in Brazil, was expecting an opportunity. When I appeared, I saw him very convinced at all levels, ”said the coach in an interview with ESPN.
Arteta also assured that it was a pleasure to have Jorginho in Arsenal’s daily life. The coach spent two seasons training the athlete, who arrived at the gunners in 2023 after five seasons at Chelsea.

Jorginho made a career in European football, debuting in the professional for Hellas Verona, from Italy. He also played for sambonyface and Napoli in the country.
Subsequently, he was hired by Chelsea in 2018, where he stayed until 2023, when he arrived to play for Arsenal. Flamengo is the first team that midfielder plays in the professional in Brazil – he made Base categories in Brusque between 2006 and 2007.
