In this place you will find the most mushrooms. You will come back with a full basket

Can you recognize all species of mushrooms? Even the best mushroom pickers have problems with this

Brown mushroom (Boletus Badius) belongs to the Borowy family and is one of the most -collected mushrooms in Poland. It has a characteristic, dark brown hat and a yellowish sponge underneath, which after touching slightly bruises. Thanks to these features, it is relatively easy to recognize and rarely confused with dangerous species.

Podgrzybki have their own environmental preferences. If you want to increase the chance of successful harvest,:

  • coniferous and mixed forests – they are particularly eager to grow under pine and spruce,
  • Polany and places covered with moss – protruding hats on the green ground are a common view,
  • around berries and heaths – these plants often divide the habitat with mushrooms,
  • Forest roads and ducta – not on the path itself, but a dozen or so steps deep into the forest,
  • Moist places after rain – fresh moisture is a signal for mass height for mushrooms.

The season to the mushroom lasts from August to late autumn, sometimes even until December, if the weather is conducive. The most Heavy races occur after several rainy days, when temperatures oscillate around 15-20 ° C. It is then that whole colonies may appear in a short time.

So let’s follow the weather forecasts and right after rainfall, especially when fog appears in the morning – These conditions are almost perfect.

Podgraws can be found throughout the country, but:

  • Masuria and Warmia – huge pine and spruce complexes are conducive to abundant harvest.
  • Podkarpacie and Bieszczady – forests of this region are considered one of the most rich in mushrooms.
  • Kashubia – mixed pine -bucus forests is a real paradise for mushroom pickers.
  • Świętokrzyskie – around Suchedniów and Bodzentyna are traditionally good places.
  • Lubuskie – a region known for mass races after each major rain.

To make the harvest not only abundant, but also responsible, it is worth remembering a few rules:

  • Use a wicker basket – the mushrooms remain airy and do not brew
  • Take out carefully – it is best to gently unscrew the mushroom and then cover the mycelium with litter,
  • clean immediately in the forest – removing needle or sand on site facilitates later processing,
  • Just collect what you know – it is better to leave the specimen in the forest in case of doubt.

The mushrooms break quicklythat’s why it is worth processing them on the same day. The most commonly used methods are marinating and freezing (after prior cooking).

Podgrach is one of the most reliable and abundant species that can be found in Polish forests. They have already begun to appear, so get a wicker basket and plan your forest walk in such a way as to return from it with a supply of mushrooms.
