Why East Central Europe was missing in the conversations with Selenskyj and Trump


The Russian attack war against Ukraine actually shifted the weights in Europe: suddenly the Eastern Central European states were more “middle” than “east”. The reason: Europe sees itself threatened by Russia, neighboring states of Ukraine such as Poland, Slovakia or Hungary were suddenly at the center of the action. Even with a view to history, those countries that were under the dominance of Russia during the Cold War had different experiences than the states in the West.
