Mailza is confirmed as a candidate for the government by the Progressive Union Federation

In an act considered historical for national policy, União Brasil and Progressives (PP) formalized this Tuesday, 19, in Brasilia, the creation of the Progressive Union Federation (UPB). The Joint Convention, held at the Ulisses Guimarães Convention Center, brought together political leaders from all over the country and confirmed the consolidation of the largest party force of the National Congress.

From Acre, Governor Gladson Cameli, Deputy Governor Mailza Assis, the President of the Legislative Assembly, Nicolau Júnior, and Federal Deputy Zezinho Barbary. Also present were the governors Marcos Rocha (RO), Wilson Lima (AM) and Antonio Denarium (RR), as well as parliamentarians, mayors and leaders of the two acronyms.

Mailza Assisi confirmed as federation candidate in 2026

Senator Ciro Nogueira, the Progressive Union co-president, confirmed deputy governor Mailza Assis as the name of the Federation to dispute the government of Acre in 2026. “No doubt. The great commander of the political process in Acre is Governor Gladson Cameli, and he has already informed me that our candidate is Mailza. We will be with her in this project, which is a winning project. Progressives and União, we will have a great governor from 2027, ”said Ciro Nogueira.

The deputy governor thanked the confidence of the national leaders and reaffirmed her commitment to the Acreans. “I receive with humility, courage and hope. I am proud to represent the strength of our people. I know the responsibility of conducting this project and I want to ensure that I will be ready to work for a fairer state, more opportunities and a better future for everyone,” said Mailza.

In Acre, Gladson Cameli will lead the state presidency of the Progressive Union. In his speech, the governor highlighted the importance of the federation to strengthen democracy. “It is an honor to participate in the Progressive Union. We came from a state that fought to be Brazilian in the far north and today we take a step to strengthen our democracy, reduce differences between people and ensure a future with more opportunities,” said Gladson.

National Unity Speeches

The convention also had pronouncements from other national leaders. Senate President David Alcolumbre stressed that the merger between the two parties represents a historical movement of strengthening Brazilian politics.

“Progressive Union is born of a great desire to reduce party fragmentation so that we can defend programs and ideas to face the problems of our country. This is a movement focused on the future, with serenity and responsibility,” he said.

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, also emphasized the transforming character of the new federation.

“Brazil was anxiously awaiting this space. This union will allow us to discuss relevant topics, face tax crises, renew hope and build a path of prosperity. I am sure this is a decisive step to transform Brazil,” he said.

Political force

With the formalization, the Progressive Federation has the largest bench in the House of Representatives, with 109 parliamentarians, 15 senators, as well as seven governors, 1,335 mayors and 12,398 councilors. The federation will also have the largest slice of the electoral fund, estimated at almost $ 1 billion, and television time, which should boost the 2026 applications.

The management will be shared between Ciro Nogueira and Antonio Rueda for the next four years.

Antonio Rueda, co -president of the Progressive Union, summed up the spirit of the meeting. “Today we realize a dream for politics, transforming Brazil. This is a powerful alliance that changes the course of the country and is born committed to prosperity, responsibility and the well-being of the Brazilian people.”

Mailza at the center of the Acreo Project

With the backing of Governor Gladson Cameli and the public confirmation of Ciro Nogueira, deputy governor Mailza Assis consolidates himself as the main bet of the Federation for Acre in 2026. The support of the country’s largest political force marks a watershed in its government pre-candidacy.
