The Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo has already done a lot against car traffic and for a better environment in her city. Now the square in front of the mayor’s office (“Hôtel de Ville”) was sealed and transformed into a small forest. There are now 150 oaks, booking and a few palm trees on around 2500 square meters. There are adults, 20 to 30 years old trees that are supposed to achieve an immediate climate effect. Because according to all sorts of forecasts, temperatures up to 40 degrees can be expected for Paris in the future. There are already 113,000 more trees in Paris than in 2020. To 2026, since Hidalgo is no longer running, around 150,000 new trees should be.
